SÍM-RES
SÍM - The Associaton of Icelandic Visual Artists is an umbrella organisation of six different artist´s associations, as well as a large number of artists who are members on individual basis. The members of SIM are alltogether around 700. SÍM includes the majority of professional visual artists active in Iceland today. The main goal of SÍM is to defend the interests of visual artists and function as their trade union. SIM runs nearly 100 studios for local artists and SIM-RES, an International Artist´s Residency program with 10 spaces for artists from abroad, as well as a guestroom apartment with 3 spaces.
